2004 Fat Bastard Merlot
Beautiful color, richly red with edges of amber; it took to its aging well. Fairly tight upon opening, but it settled down with a short (20 min) "breathing" time. Nice representative of Merlot, juicy, fruity--dark berries and cherries, somewhat herbal. Drank it while grilling and then with the resulting sirloin (which had been well marinated in bourbon, soy sauce, Worcestershire, sauce, brown sugar and balsamic vinegar). Great combo.
